High Levels f Estrogens Discovered In Some Industrial Wastewater
Science Daily (press release)
In fact they saw more than 90 percent removal of these compounds from the water. Unfortunately sometimes 99 percent removal is needed to reach levels that are considered harmless to fish. Plant-based phytoestrogens are naturally occurring but have been shown to function as hormone mimics and alter development and reproductive patterns in fish. These effects include decreased aggression immunosuppression and decreased testosterone production. ther estrogens that cause similar effects have been linked to population-level collapse in fish Novak said. "Many people have looked at human-related chemicals such as those in birth control pills as the primary source of estrogens in the water supply but they have not looked at plant-based estrogens from a wide variety industries" Novak said. "ur research is the first study of its kind to provide a snapshot in time of what is going on in these industries.

AEHI’s New Nuclear Plant ffered Land By Multiple Idaho Counties
Nuclear Street – Nuclear Power Portal
We eagerly look forward to being the source of high paying jobs critical tax revenues; and abundant low cost clean power. This region has been overlooked in terms of base load energy options and we feel excited to have this opportunity to help out. We look at the competition for our plant as a friendly competition and we are now looking at two additional sites. ” AEHI's site engineering contractor is busy completing the needed assessments so that we can move forward in a timely manner. The company has also been in contact with several non-nuclear utilities who are considering nuclear plants instead of continuing to invest in the rising costs of carbon plants. "This is likely to be an increasing trend as primarily fossil-based utilities realize that nuclear is really the only option for clean and reliable base load power today. While nuclear prices are affordable and stable fossil-fuel prices continue to rise dramatically while their reliability declines for their customers” says Gillispie.

Cloverdale sewer plant remains a problem
The Banner-Graphic
Mike Hunter of Triad Engineering went before the council to address its concerns about the plant’s design. In his report Hunter stated problems the plant is experiencing are not design issues. “I will stand behind the design 100 percent” he said. Hunter thought Triad had gone out of its way to help Cloverdale and he was not prepared to walk away. Most of the problems have been fixed including the raw sewage pump which was running in an on-off mode instead of variable speed flow.

2010 Ford Taurus earns top safety pick award

It seems the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) agrees with Ford’s assessment. Based on its performance in testing they awarded the car a Top Safety Pick. To ensure that the cars lived up the design standards Ford had envisioned considerable investment in the Chicago assembly plant in which the Taurus is built occurred first. $130 million was poured into the plant to completely revamp the assembly process and ensure the highest possible quality within vehicles leaving the assembly line. The plant has a rough road test track to allow technicians to assess squeaks and rattles that need addressing before the vehicles arrive on a showroom floor. "The upgrades we made at the plant will further ensure that quality is built into every Ford Taurus" said Joe Hinrichs group vice president Global Manufacturing and Labor Affairs. "Ford’s quality is on par with the best in the industry and the employees in Chicago are delivering the Taurus with an unrelenting focus on quality and craftsmanship.
