Plant milks the savings from solid-lubricant Molded-il bearings

Molded-il can significantly increase the operating life of grease lubrication in water-contaminated environments. Moreover the technology means that operating environments are kept free of grease; and there is no need for refilling of lubricant as Molded-il provides a continuous supply of lubricating oil. In this milk plant application NSK recommended F-UC206 Molded-il bearing inserts to overcome the failure modes. These bearings cost £99 but are saving nearly £10000 per year. In addition NSK also recommended changing the existing housings for the bearings to Silver-Lube units. A range of mounted bearing units designed specifically for use in industries where hygiene considerations and corrosion and chemical resistance are important ? typically bottling and brewing food processing pharmaceuticals fisheries and chemical processing.

The majority of the loan 75 percent would have a zero percent interest rate while the remainder would be at market rate resulting in an estimated interest debt savings of $18 million officials said. The projects are expected to go out to bid next month. The loans are not to exceed $16 million for the Skillman Village plant and $19 million for the Pike Brook plant. Timothy Bradley director of wastewater engineering for mni Environmental said the total loan amount is likely to be closer to $32 million. With the principal forgiveness from the state and anticipated connection fees the total debt service is estimated at $11 million he said. Sewer users will bear the cost of the upgrade beginning in 2012. This year the township changed its method for calculating sewer bills changing from a flat fee to usage-based calculation.

At last week’s utility authority meeting the board voted 6-1 to change the easements to 30 feet if the Coalville property is chosen. Residents in the area were pleased with the board’s decision. “Two weeks ago this body had the courage to move the plant behind the cemetery” said Jim Walker whose mother owns property on Shorecrest. “Today is another small victory. ”But residents still have questions he said. They want to know why the board needs 50 feet from property owners for this project and no others. He also questions whether the board wants to acquire the easements to build a road later on.

This is intensifying the need for companies to make key performance indicators (KPIs) visible across all levels of the operation to help provide that processes are operating correctly and assets are being effectively utilized. While many companies have enormous potential for improving plant performance they’re challenged with collecting organizing and analyzing the data needed to identify areas for improvement. By applying performance management solutions organizations can simplify the information-gathering process while providing the role-based visibility and in-depth analysis needed to make intelligent business decisions. Combining advanced visualization analysis and reporting tools with engineering experience these solutions are designed to help companies shift from a repair-focused asset management strategy to a plan that is reliability-focused. This helps reduce overall maintenance costs while transforming production data into actionable information that drives continuous improvement. Accurate insight through EEne performance management tool that continues to deliver powerful results is overall equipment effectiveness.

Paul Michalicka SKF USA Inc. The strategy works in virtually every manufacturing industry and has particular relevance in the food and beverage steel making chemical processing and mining sectors. A typical bearing’s life cycle divides into distinct stages including bearing installation alignment lubrication condition monitoring and dismounting. Each stage directly impacts bearing performance and life expectancy.
