The announcement was made by Thomas J. Van Laan PE the CE and president of CADE. Walker has 16 years of experience in the sales marketing and business development of plant design and engineering software solutions for the process and power industries including 13 years with CADE first as Business Development Manager and then Marketing Manager. Prior to that he worked for 18 years in the process and power industries as a piping designer for oil gas chemical and water systems using PDMS PDS and AutoCAD-based solutions and as a site engineer for offshore and onshore projects in Denmark Norway and the United Kingdom.

Chesterfield wants sewer plant in wake of rate hike
Anderson Herald Bulletin
Chesterfield residents currently pay $1. 11 per 1000 gallons. Lautz was unable to give a specific rate estimate for residents if the plant was built but said it was expected to be significantly cheaper than if the town continued its contract with Anderson. The preliminary engineering report approved Monday will allow Commonwealth Engineers to complete an environmental impact study and gather data regarding the need for the sewer system as required by the state revolving loan fund which will provide a loan for the construction of the plant. Lautz estimated that the cost of a plant that treats up to 500000 gallons of wastewater per day would be roughly $5. 3 million including all administrative and land acquisition costs. Mark and Max Abrell of the Delaware County Regional Waste District attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of Daleville joining forces with Chesterfield in the operation of the plant.

White Mountain Extends Pilot Plant Program to Include the Recovery …
PR Newswire (press release)
Under the newly agreed scope of work SGS will use tailings derived from rutile flotation as the feed source for a feldspar recovery circuit. perating procedures including the choice of flotation reagents and variations in pH conditions will be investigated as well as a comparison of feldspar recovery using both potable and sea water as the flotation medium. The work program will also include a full locked cycle test to determine metallurgical parameters for design engineering purposes. Results from this program are expected by the end of June. “As we move closer to feasibility it is important to assess the feldspar potential” said Michael Kurtanjek the Company’s President and CE. “If we are able to successfully produce a commercial grade bulk feldspar concentrate from tailings we could potentially significantly reduce the amount of process waste and at the same time enhance the project’s economics. Feldspar is an important component of the glass and ceramics industry and the Cerro Blanco project has the capability of producing in excess of 750000 tonnes of bulk feldspar concentrate per year.

Rain barrels offer partial solution to high flows at sewer plant
Evening bserver
At the Silver Creek Village Board meeting Monday Kerri Bentkowski of the Buffalo-Niagara River Keepers and Betsy Hite of Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy presented rain barrels as an option to help village residents convert illegal downspout hookups into beneficial water reservoirs – easing destructive peak flows upward of four million gallons each day at the wastewater treatment plant while cutting their home water bills at the same time. In addition board members embarked on a grant application to offset costs associated with an engineering study to address current inflow and infiltration problems in the village sewer system. “Essentially (the rain barrel) is a mechanism to capture storm water runoff from your roof. If you can imagine just a downspout coming off your roof every time it rains right now it would go right in through the storm drain and down into the sewer or (into the sanitary sewer) which may cause issues” Bentkowski explained referencing a rain barrel brought to show village officials and residents.
