More than 135 products from throughout the world were named finalists for the awards and the winner was chosen by Plant Engineering’s readers. “In 2008 our readers focused on efficiency and energy” said Bob Vavra editor of Plant Engineering magazine. “Energy was a major driver and we’re pleased that our readers recognize this as important and we’re very pleased to be honoring our Grand Award winner at our 21st annual Product of the Year awards to rion Energy Systems and the Apollo(tm) Light Pipe.

They are also protesting at a plant in Essex while 80 workers are still taking part in a sit-in at a factory in Belfast which began on Tuesday. The workers are angry about more than 500 job losses and what they see as derisory redundancy packages. The company was placed into administration on Tuesday. Visteon the US-based firm which was spun-off from Ford has had a presence in the UK since 2000 through Visteon UK Ltd. The subsidiary has racked up losses of £669m since then.

Stockton is located in a portion of the Pinelands being investigated for upgraded preservation status which would limit the amount of development in the area. However AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center worked with the Pinelands Commission to develop a master plan that allowed for additional growth around the Mainland Campus according to David Tilton president and CE of AtlantiCare. Graham said he hopes to have an engineering plan for the power plant done within 90 days and the project up and running within a year. Corzine also signed three pieces of legislation supporting the state’s Energy Master Plan. Among the new legislation is a bill that provides grants for combined heat and energy projects such as the one proposed at Stockton.
Katanga Announces Results of Engineering Report

This report covers the merged company’s 23 years of production from proven and probable mineral reserves as defined by National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Regulators (”NI 43-101″). Following successful completion of Phase 1 of a major rehabilitation program on the Properties Katanga restarted copper production in December 2007. Phase 2 of the Luilu Metallurgical Plant (”Luilu”) refurbishment is expected to be completed in mid-2009. Upon completion of Phase 2 production capacity at Luilu is expected to be 70000 tonnes of copper and 4000 tonnes of cobalt per annum and is expected to be maintained at this level until 2011. Provided additional financing is obtained the Company intends to further expand Luilu with an increase in copper capacity to approximately 110000 tonnes per annum (tpa) in 2012 (phase 3) and 150000 tpa in 2013 (phase 4). The first module together with a whole ore leach facility would be targeted to begin operations in 2014 adding an additional 80000 tpa of copper capacity.
