L&T to set up power equipment manufacturing plant in Hazira Mumbai Feb 25 (PTI) Larsen & Toubro today said it has zeroed in on Hazira Gujarat to set up its Rs 1500-crore power equipment manufacturing plant. The engineering major would make turbines and boilers at the Hazira plant L&T.

President John Richardson expects the Tulsa energy consulting firm will coordinate with other firms another client’s bid this year and one next year. After that Enercon plays a waiting game to see how the Nuclear Regulatory Commission handles these proposals. While Enercon’s two-year-old New Plant Services Division will shepherd the applications through the government red tape Richardson and his staff expect it could take.

Now as Tribune reporter Erik Siemers’ article ? “Electric car plant still only on paper” ? said Monday company officials aren’t exactly sure when they’ll proceed. That’s in part because the company is continuing to design modify and redesign its WhiteStar model – a four-door luxury electric sedan. Company spokesman Daryl Siry told Siemers the company still is designing and engineering the new car. The assembly plant has to reflect that car design and first the company needs “to make sure we have the right car. Siry said the company is trying to learn from its past effort ? the design and production of its Roadster in England ? in which the design wasn’t locked down reslting in delays and rising costs. For example the design and cost of the WhiteStar is bound to determine whether some parts are better assembled in Albuquerque or elsewhere Siry said. And all that of course will affect the size and design of the West Side plant.

He took me under his wing and showed me some things. Reddy spent his first decade in America working as an engineer for two Fortune 500 companies. In the midst of the country’s energy crisis he saw a budding power conservation industry and went out on his own in 1980. He called his first company Power Control Systems a name indicative of what it did. His biggest deals were designing and installing lighting and power controls for the Jacksonville (Fla. ) Jaguars’ stadium and General Motors’ manufacturing plant in Tennessee where it makes vehicles under the Saturn brand… He called his first company Power Control Systems a name indicative of what it did. Reddy didn’t get there overnight. He got his start by installing energy conservation systems in Augusta car dealerships grocery stores at Plant Vogtle and Savannah River Site. Commercial real estate became a second career.
