It has awarded a Rs. 37-lakh tender to Mailhem Engineering Private Limited Pune to construct the plant. This company will operate and maintain the plant for one year. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has given technical approval for the plant.

In the previous financial year Rheochem had renewed its offshore drilling fluid services contract with Santos until December 2008. Delays in the start up of the project may extend this period beyond this date. Last years significant plant upgrade to its Dampier drilling fluids plant has improved the prospects of gaining multiple customers in this region. In addition mobile plant and equipment was constructed to take advantage of smaller jobs in remote locations that would not justify commitment to a fixed plant. The Company finalised construction of its new corporate headquarters in August 2007 combining offices laboratories and warehouses within the one facility. This gives the Company more control over its operations and reduces some of the substantial storage charges which it was incurring on bulk stock. This leads to greater flexibility with stock management and inventory control… This leads to greater flexibility with stock management and inventory control. This puts Rheochem in a good position to be able to bid for more work knowing it has the corporate and production facilities already in place. New Zealand In December 2004 Rheochem's wholly owned New Zealand subsidiary Rheochem Pacific Limited was awarded its first contract with Mighty River Power Limited to supply drilling fluids and engineering services and supply commenced in April 2005. In March 2005 a second contract with Contact Energy Limited was awarded which also commenced in April 2005. I am delighted to report that both contracts have continued to provide a healthy revenue for Rheochem Pacific Limited and this subsidiary has posted its highest interim period revenues to date. The company will continue to bid on tenders to supply drilling fluids and engineering services to geothermal and oil and gas projects in New Zealand. India Rheochem India Private Limited (RIPL) was incorporated on 10 May 2005.
