– Beacon Power Corporation (NASDAQ: BCN) a company that designs and develops advanced products and services to support more stable reliable and efficient electricity grid operation today announced that it intends to build its first 20-megawatt flywheel-based frequency regulation plant in New York State. To that end the Company has filed a Small Generator Interconnection Request application with the New York Independent System perator (NYIS). The interconnection application was based on design work for Beacon’s 20-megawatt plant that was recently completed (in accordance with a previously stated September milestone) in collaboration with Carter & Burgess Beacon’s architectural.
