26–The Fresno City Council approved testing for a proposed nuclear power plant even though construction of one is prohibited under state law. Supporters said the vote wasn’t an endorsement for building a nuclear power plant in Fresno. The testing will simply determine whether a plant can be cooled with effluent from the city’s waste-water treatment plant in southwest Fresno they said. The council voted 4-2 to allow the testing which. CPYRIGHT 2007 The Fresno Bee.

No fees paid to HFBE in connection with itsvaluation and fairness opinion were tied to completion of the transaction. — The terms of the Contribution and Merger Agreement were the basis ofextensive negotiations over more than six months. In addition to HFBE theBoard retained several other independent professionals to assist with itsinternal financial analysis and due diligence including xford AdvisorsCummins & Barnard HDR and other outside consultants with significantexpertise in biomass plant engineering and related fields. — Since the HFBE valuation opinion was given Catalytica Energy Systemslowered its full-year revenue guidance as a result of declining demand andbacklog for SCR-Tech’s service offerings. As more fully described inrecent public filings the trend of the Company’s financial performancethrough the second quarter of 2007 has not been favorable and it facesnear-term challenges due to ongoing soft market conditions emergingcompetition for catalyst regeneration competitive pricing pressure andsignificant capital investment required for SCR-Tech to more fully realizefuture growth opportunities. Catalytica Energy Systems’ 2007 revenues willfall below 2006 revenues. Furthermore the Company recognizes that itsbacklog today is still not sufficient to ensure that it will meet itsrevenue guidance for 2007… Further while the Company has maintainedexpectations for market growth beginning in 2008 its backlog securedto-date does not yet support the expectation that it will be able tocapitalize on such market growth. — Conversely it is the belief of Catalytica Energy Systems that NZLegacy’s Snowflake White Mountain Power (SWMP) biomass plant has increasedin value since HFBE completed its fairness analysis. The construction ofthe plant has significantly advanced since the HFBE analysis thus it canbe argued that the discount rate previously applied to the valuation ofthis asset has substantially decreased thereby significantly increasing itsvalue a factor that will continue as the plant approaches start-up. TheSWMP plant is now over 75% complete and is on schedule. nce fullyoperational which is scheduled for the first half of 2008 this plant isexpected to generate on an annual basis more than $16 million in revenues$8 million in EBITDA and in excess of $3 million in cash flow after debtservice. — We anticipate the cost of building the SWMP plant on a per kilowattbasis excluding financing costs of approximately $2100. Based on datasecured from the USA Biomass Power Producers Alliance and other sourcesCatalytica Energy Systems has identified several new biomass plants thathave been recently commissioned or are currently under construction withconstruction costs ranging from $1900 per kilowatt to $2800 per kilowattincluding several plants of a similar size to SWMP such as NGPP MinnesotaBiomass and District Energy St.

The operation will be called Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi Inc. and will be a wholly owned subsidary of Toyota Auto Body based in Kariya-city Japan. Toyota's auto manufacturing plant in Union County will make the popular Highlander SUV and employ some 2000. And Tuesday's announcement was even better than expected. In July when TAB announced it was looking for a site in North Mississippi officials said they were investing $180 million and would hire 260 workers. Those numbers have grown to a $200 million investment and 400 workers. "These are high-skilled high-paying jobs" said Gov… Highways 45 and 78 both four-lane roads that lead directly to TMMMS. The proximity to the main Toyota plant is critical for the "just in time" delivery system used in the vaunted Toyota Production System. Toshio Mizushima president of Toyota Auto Body is no stranger to that system having worked with Taiichi hno one of TPS' engineering pioneers. Mizushima lauded the community lavishly praising local and state officials for working with the company to find a suitable site. The Tupelo-based Community Development Foundation was a key player as well much as it was in helping land Toyota in February. Barbour cited the group for its efforts in helping to recruit TAB as did Cuneo who said CDF "is really a model for the rest of the state. "Mizushima who flew from Japan to attend the ceremony said he too was impressed by what he had seen and heard.
