Water plant plans ready

Cesar told trustees during a special meeting this week the plans have three different layouts for the plant which include two different types of membrane style water treatment systems. “We’ve got the plan where we can bid it three different ways” he said. The engineer said the membrane system planned for this water plant is new to klahoma since there’s not another like it in the entire state. To learn more about this type of system Cesar and local city officials over time visited several plants in the country and even Canada equipped with this same process. All of it made Cesar a believer in this system for treating water. “It will give us better performance than with a conventional plant. I’m not concerned about the process or the reliability of the process” he said.

The Mumbai-based Rs 14653-crore engineeringfirm had earlier said the shipbuilding yard could come up either in Tamil Naduor in Gujarat. The SEZs?location in the company?s own land takes care of sticky issues of landacquisition L&T executives said. The Tata group is facing opposition atSingur in West Bengal in land acquisition for its car plant while the MukeshAmbani-led Reliance Industries is facing legal hassles for its proposed SEZ nearMumbai. At the company?sAGM in Mumbai some shareholders questioned L&T?s move to enternon-core areas such as an alumina refinery and the feasibility of carrying onwith a large number of subsidiaries and associate companies under itsfold. ?ur focus hasalways been to develop our engineering capabilities? Mr Naik said inresponse to a shareholder?s query on non-core ventures. ?ur jointventure in alumina is minimum and I think it?s a good decision in the longterm? he added. L&Thas a JV with Dubai Aluminium Company to build a Rs 15000-crore 3-milliontonne alumina refinery in rissa.

City Brewing said an on-site treatment facility will allow the brewery to operate at maximum capacity without impacting the municipal wastewater treatment plant. City Brewing expects construction to take about two years.
