(KSE:028050) South Korea’s top plant builder said today it has won a US$470 million order from Thai state-run oil company PTT Public Co. to build a chemical plant in southeastern Thailand. The ethane-separation plant will be built in Map Ta Phut an industrial zone 250 kilometres southeast of Bangkok which is scheduled for completion by February 2010 Samsung Engineering said in a regulatory filing. The plant will have a daily processing capacity of 800 million square feet of ethane gas the world’s largest ethane-separation plant.

Treatment plant stinks up neighborhood

But this brings none of the enjoyment that those events do. In fact some neighbors said it can make them anxious about the arrival of summer. The foul odors that have emanated from the city’s sewage treatment plant in Bradford are back and neighbors are complaining to city leaders. Kimberly Zizza bought her house at 14 Agawam Ave. more than a year ago during the winter when the odor is not obvious. She was unaware that a treatment plant was nearby. When the weather turned warmer Zizza said she smelled what she thought was a dead animal – but she was corrected by neighbors… He said he has received complaints from residents living as far away as Colby Street near Elmwood Cemetery – at least a quarter-mile from the plant. “There are odors coming out of there that can be smelled several streets away that people could not smell in the past” Ryan said. “The questions the residents raised to me is ‘What is wrong?’”Ryan wants the city to order an engineering study to determine the best way to prevent the odors from wafting through the area. Water Supervisor Robert Ward said he believes he knows what is causing the problem. He said a device that uses chemicals to tame the smell wasn’t working properly during the last week or two. Workers are trying to fix the problem he said. “It’s a temperamental unit” Ward said.
Delphi Plans pening New Diesel Plant in Romania

As a dedicated diesel site the Iasi plant would produce high-precision diesel fuel injection components mainly pumps and injectors for common rail systems and will serve various customers around the world. Recruitment to fill jobs at the initial facility has already started. According to Michel Stanciu director of manufacturing strategy & engineering for Delphi Diesel Systems workers at the plant will receive important training. “Iasi has a deep pool of well-qualified employees from which we will select” said Stanciu. “To augment those talents each new employee will go through an extensive training programme” Stanciu a native Romanian was integral in bringing the plant to Romania and expects mutual benefits to be realized by the company and the country through the localization of the plant. “We look forward to a continued strong partnership with government officials economic develop agencies and local educational institutions to finalize our long-range investment and capacity expansion plans” said Stanciu. Precision Required from Diesel Plants The manufacturing of diesel fuel injection systems requires an extremely skilled workforce… Strong expertise Delphi engineers have extraordinary expertise in air fuel and exhaust management systems because they work with all these technologies in the Delphi portfolio. Delphi engineers can easily orchestrate them to work in optimum harmony. This flexible balanced expertise allows them to design the best fuel injection system solutions to meet car markers specialized needs. Delphi Powertrain Systems Delphi’s powertrain technologies provide robust solutions to complex challenges helping its customers develop vehicles that offer outstanding performance refinement and emissions. They include multi point injection and direct injection gasoline systems; common rail rotary pump diesel systems in a range of capacities and for heavy duty diesel applications Electronic Unit Injectors and Electronic Unit Pumps. Firms need to ask themselves if their employees have a legitimate requirement to run applications like P2P software and if not control their usage through technology. The authorities are reported to be holding the officer’s superiors partially responsible for the incident and may reprimand up to 10 other people. Sophos notes that this was not the first occasion that information has leaked via peer-to-peer file-sharing networks:In May 2006 Sophos reported that a virus had leaked power plant secrets via Winny for the second time in four months. The previous month a Japanese anti-virus company admitted that internal documents and customer information had been leaked after one of its employees failed to install anti-virus software. Earlier in 2006 Sophos described how information about Japanese sex victims was leaked by a virus after a police investigator’s computer had been infected. In June 2005 Sophos reported that nuclear power plant secrets had been leaked from a computer belonging to an employee of Mitsubishi Electric Plant Engineering. the township feels like they can accomplish the project for the authority” said Fred Courtright of F. Browne the authority’s engineering consultant. Since no bids were received authority attorney Richard Deetz said it appears the authority has the legal right to declare an emergency so the roads department could do the work immediately without seeking bids again. “I believe there is an urgency here” board member Thomas M… nce that work is done probably in August the authority can authorize McElwee to begin refurbishing the plant. Courtright noted the authority is under a state mandate to upgrade the Winona plant and expand it to accommodate 100 vacant building lots that were included in the original service territory. Those lots owners can’t obtain building permits until additional plant capacity is available. The authority was ordered by the state to takeover the failing plant earlier this decade from the cash-strapped Winona Lakes developer. “You need to modernize this antique is basically what it is” said board member M. The plant serves parts of three sections in the Winona Lakes development.
