Skangass AS is a joint venture betweenutility provider Lyse Gass and financial investor Celsius Invest. Thecontract value is approximately EUR 100 million. The LNG plant has a production capacity of approximately 300000tonnes per year and will provide LNG for customers in Scandinavia andin the Baltic region from 2010. AGA Gas AB a Linde subsidiary andmarket leader in industrial gases in Sweden will use and distributea sixth of the total LNG volume. “This order further underlines our leading position in the field ofmedium-sized LNG plants” said Dr. Aldo Belloni member of theExecutive Board of Linde AG. “Furthermore this project allows us toenter the strategically important merchant LNG market… Aldo Belloni member of theExecutive Board of Linde AG. “Furthermore this project allows us toenter the strategically important merchant LNG market. Thanks to a highly energy efficient liquefaction process developed byLinde the new plant will create far less emissions than othercomparable units. Demand for LNG is currently rising by approximately10 percent per year mainly as a replacement for other lessenvironmentally friendly fossil fuels. The new plant is accordinglydesigned to double its capacity if necessary.

Romanian plant for Messer

Building on its long-standing partnership with the Russian pipe manufacturer TMK (Trubnaja Metallurgical Kompanija) Messer will be building the plant on the TMK steel pipe production site in Resita. The €20m plant is scheduled for July 2009 and will be producing nitrogen oxygen and argon for local manufacturers medical oxygen for hospitals and the home care of patients and represents Messer’s first own production plant in Romania.
