Evogene allies with SunGene on next-generation plant biotechnology

07 | 14:22 By TheMarker Rehovot-based Evogene (TASE: EVGN) today announced a collaboration with SunGene of Gatersleben Germany to develop next-generation plant biotechnology-engineering techniques. The companies mean to focus on enabling technologies for the precise bioengineering of crops Evogene said. The collaboration is supported under the Israel-Germany BioDisc program and by the ffice of the Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology. Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research is also helping. The companies mean to develop techniques to improve the implantation of “good” genes into plant DNA ultimately reducing the number of plants that have to be analyzed Evogene explains.
