If this is to be repaired pumping from the plant has to be shut down for more than two hours. In effect there is not even 50 per cent stand by for the pumps at the plant that runs round the clock. The KWA top brass has also not responded to calls from the field for filling up the two vacancies of assistant engineer at the treatment plant. Sources in the KWA say that with four pumps in operation the presence of an engineer round the clock at the plant is very important.

China Non-Ferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Company and the China National Machinery Industry Corporation will construct the facility. It will have an annual capacity of 1. 6m tonnes of alumina and 700000 tonnes of aluminium.
